The Thunder had their annual blue and white scrimmage Tuesday evening at John Marshall High School. This is not the first time the Thunder has held their scrimmage at a local high school. In fact, it’s something the organization loves to do and Nick Collison made it well known that tonight was for the fans.

The white team ended up winning the scrimmage 73-67 with Russell Westbrook, Andre Roberson, Domantis Sabonis, Ronnie Price, and Anthony Morrow all finishing in double digits. However, Sabonis was no doubt the star of the night. The rookie showed that he had a very well rounded game. He was knocking down threes, hitting mid-range jumpers, and even cutting to the glass for easy points. He finished the first quarter with 10 points on a perfect 4-4 from the field.

The scary moment of the night came when back-up point guard Cameron Payne left the scrimmage early and went back to the locker room with team doctors. While the diagnosis is just a right ankle sprain, the concern comes that it’s the same side that he had the Jones fracture surgery on this summer. What Payne wants to avoid is the notion that he’s injury prone, but he’s had a really difficult time staying healthy thus far in his short career.
The Thunder are off to Spain next, with a preseason game on October 3rd against Real Madrid. The game will take place at 1:30 p.m. at the Barclaycard Center in Madrid.
