Oklahoma Offers 4-Star DT From St. Louis

Oklahoma’s search for quality defensive linemen in their 2018 recruiting class continued on Thursday with an offer to St Louis (Charminade) defensive tackle Trevor Trout. Rated as the nation’s 15th defensive tackle prospect, Trout has already received offers from twenty-four other programs, including Arkansas, LSU, Nebraska, and Texas.

Thought by many to be a heavy lean towards Missouri, Trout has recently received a lot of attention from Oklahoma defensive line coach Calvin Thibodeaux and defensive coordinator Mike Stoops. The Sooners currently have five defensive tackles on their roster, with three of them being sophomores, but none in the freshman class.

Trout has great size 6-3/315 and knows how to leverage his power to his advantage. He can produce a strong bull rush and occupy multiple blockers at once. He plays with an angry motor and is it extremely difficult to contain.

Trout covets an Ohio State offer, and if the Buckeyes get involved it could be a game changer, but for now its safe to say that Oklahoma is on his radar and gaining some momentum.
