Back in November of 2016, the NCAA delivered a piece of news to the starting center of the Oklahoma Sooners, Erick Wren. Expected to exhaust his eligibility as a redshirt senior, the former walk-on was granted an extra year. With the news, Bill Bedenbaugh’s offensive line depth expanded to eight experienced players.
Earning a scholarship, Wren started ten games last season at the center position. The work on the field has not only been rewarded by the University of Oklahoma, but also by National Award Watch Lists.

Landing a spot on Rimington Trophy Watch List, Wren is setting up for a memorable finish to his collegiate career. Through 518 snaps, the center surrendered a single sack during the 2016 campaign. The effort earned Wren an honorable mention on the All-Big 12 Team.
As we inch closer and closer to the upcoming football season, watch lists for various award will be compiled. Which other Sooners will find themselves deemed worthy?
