OKC Thunder Countdown to Tip-Off | 50 Days

Thunder basketball will be back in 50 days and we couldn’t be more excited about it. The Thunder Guys have decided to do a 50 day countdown to bring in the start of the season.

ESPN has predicted the Thunder to win 49.5 games this season. The over/under will be 50 games for the 2017-2018 season. This number seems pretty low for a team that won 46 games a year ago, and has now made major roster improvements.

Paul George coming to OKC via trade from Indiana will be huge not only on the offensive side of the ball, but on defense as well. PG13 has the ability to score from anywhere on the court, and will be a dangerous weapon for Russell Westbrook to have. His presence on the perimeter on defense will also greatly improve this team.

A lot of people forget all of the young talent that this Thunder team has. 2016-2017 Second Team All-Defense guard Andre Roberson will also be returning after signing his extension. The combination between Roberson and George will make it very tough for opposing teams on the perimeter.

The Thunder also have Alex Abrines who will be looking to improve on his already impressive rookie season. Abrines set the record for 3 point shots made by a rookie in Thunder franchise history. His ability to spot up and shoot might be just what the Thunder need to take their offense to the next level.

If I was placing a bet on this I would take the over in a heartbeat. A much younger, less talented team won 46 games last year. Having a healthy team, the talents of Paul George, and the explosiveness of Russell Westbrook, the Thunder could end up with 55+ wins in 2018.
