Oklahoma Sooners Basketball | Grad Transfer Aaron Calixte To Visit

In case you missed it, the Oklahoma Sooners answered a few questions surrounding the program by picking up Kris Martin. After transferring to Colorado State, the 6-6 guard sat out due to NCAA Rules. However, Martin has been granted a full release from the program following the resignations of Coach Larry Eustachy.

Previous, Martin posted 13.2 points per game as a sophomore with Oral Roberts during the 2016-17 campaign. He now joins a Sooner program looking for immediate help at the shooting guard position with the departure of Kameron McGusty. Yet, it is not certain that transfer will be eligible in the upcoming year.

Needless to say, Martin is not the only player Oklahoma has interest in obtaining for the upcoming season.

On the second full weekend in April, Norman will play host to Aaron Calixte. As a graduate transfer, the 5-11 point guard would become immediately available assuming Calixte’s final destination in Oklahoma. Possessing plenty of experience, the guard averaged 33.2 minutes and 16.9 points for the Maine Black Bears.

Calixte would join another program as a fifth year senior. Due to a foot injury, the graduate transfer played in a mere five games before being granted a redshirt. Now, he has one year of eligibility remaining and wants to use it wisely.

As the search continues for the next point guard at Oklahoma, Lon Kruger has his work cut out for him.
