The Oklahoma Sooners returned to campus for voluntary workouts on Wednesday in preparation for the upcoming season. Attempting to limit the number exposures in the current health climate, the program pushed workouts as far back a feasibly possible. However, it failed to prevent positive cases from occurring within in the student-athlete community.

According the various news outlets, fourteen football players and two staff members received a positive test for COVID-19. The initial number of seven were tested before Monday while the second half were not. Despite the number of cases coming from within the program, only twelve are currently active meaning two have recovered from the coronavirus.
At this point in time, kickoff is set for September 5th as Missouri State comes to Norman. The names of the staff members and players have not be released either.
