Fans immediately knew the interest was mutual between the Oklahoma State Cowboys and Cam’Ron Valdez, a 2021 running back prospect south of the border. Scheduling an official visit for April 18th during the Spring Game, plans changed due to the outbreak of COVID-19. Rescheduling for May 1, the date was eventually scratched as well which left a bit of a question mark hovering over the recruit.
However, Valdez remains adamant about taking an official visit before eventually making a commitment. Currently holding 24 offers from schools across the country, the 4-star running back cut the list to seven on Friday afternoon. As expected, Valdez reciprocated the interest in O-State by including the Pokes in that group.

As a high school junior, Valdez carried the ball 183 times. Amassing 1,697 yards from the line of scrimmage, one of the most notable traits of the ball carrier is his speed. At 5-10 and 190-pounds, Valdez possesses good size and collected 26 rushing touchdowns in 2019. Yet, the running back also showcased the ability to come out of the backfield and present a passing option.
Believed to be a Texas Tech Red Raiders lean according to 247Sports analysts, don’t count out the Cowboys or the Arkansas Razorbacks at the moment. Knowing Valdez is planning to ink his name to a letter of intent during the early signing period, the back remains a priority for these three programs.
OSU picked up commitment from Jaden Nixon during the 2021 cycle at the position, but there’s room for two backs in this class.
