The Oklahoma State Cowboys are a top-10 team in the nation, and as the season is nearing the end, the Cowboys are playing their best football. Last week, the Cowboys crushed the Texas Christian Horned Frogs in a 63-17 bloodbath where the defense put on an absolute clinic and the offense really came alive.

Today, the Cowboys travel to Lubbock, Texas, to take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders, who have had an up and down season but are currently sitting at 6th in the Big 12 with a 6-4 record. The Red Raiders have lost some tough games against Texas, TCU, Kansas State, and Oklahoma, but they have a couple of nice wins against Houston and Iowa State, so they’re capable of playing some good football.

Today’s matchup features one of the nation’s top defenses against an above-average offense. The Red Raiders average 274.7 passing yards per game, good for 26th in the nation, and 165.9 rushing yards per game, which is 66th in the nation. Oklahoma State has held more opponents to under 200 yards passing and 100 yards rushing than they have given up that much.

Meanwhile, the Cowboy offense has been on a roll the last few weeks. Oklahoma State is averaging 47.3 points and 500.7 yards of offense over the last 3 games, while Texas Tech gives up 406 yards per game on the season, including 135.6 rushing yards per game. If the Cowboys can get the run game going early, thus opening up the pass game as well, this could turn into a blowout.
