Nittany Lions or Trojans? Friday Locks: Week 7

Advertisements

For the second week in a row we collectively went 6-7 on our Friday Locks. If you’re using this information for anything other than entertainment purposes, you’re probably really frustrated. We’re 37-47 on the season, which is kind of embarrassing to type out.

Anyway, we’ve got a total of 9 games that we’re looking at this week, including BYU/Arizona, Penn State/USC, and the Red River Rivalry. Make sure to check out our individual picks below.

Week 7 Picks

Caleb

Oklahoma (+14.5) vs Texas | Texas is a very good football team, but they haven’t faced a defense like Oklahomas. I expect the Sooners to play a very competitive game.

Oregon (+3) vs Ohio State I believe Oregon is one of the best teams in the country, and fully expect Oregon to show the rest of the country just how good they are.

Boise St (-20.5) vs Hawaii | Boise St is one of the best group of 5 teams, and have one of the best RBs in the country.

Craig

Penn State (-4.5) at USC | Penn State has essentially rolled over every opponent they’ve faced. I think they keep the ball rolling this week with a win over the struggling Trojans.

BYU (-4) vs. Arizona |  I’m a little surprised this spread isn’t closer to a touchdown margin. The Wildcats will keep it close, but BYU is the better team and they’ll win this one at home.

Kansas State (-4.5) at Colorado | Kansas State has looked good following their big loss to BYU. I think Colorado will be outmatched in this one.

Matt

USC (+4) vs. Penn State | It pains me to pick USC to cover this spread, but the Trojans already have their backs against the wall in the Big 10 and another loss could send things spiraling out of control for Lincoln Riley. I think that USC is going to keep this tight.

Pitt (-3.5) vs. Cal | They Golden Bears haven’t beaten a ranked team since 2020. They have to fly across the country to face a Pitt team looking to go 6-0 for the first time since 1982. Give me the Panthers!

BYU (-3) vs. Arizona | BYU has won three straight games against Arizona. The fourth is coming on Saturday!

Zack

Utah Utes (-4.5) at Arizona State Sun Devils | I know Utah hasn’t been as great as they’d hoped, but I still don’t think Arizona State is very good. Give me the Utes by more than a touchdown in Tempe.

Missouri Tigers (-26) at Massachusetts Minutemen | The Tigers were embarrassed last week at Texas A&M, and unfortunately for UMass, Missouri needs a bounceback in a major way. This is going to get ugly very quickly.

Oklahoma Sooners (+14) vs. Texas Longhorns | This is arguably the best rivalry game in all of college football, and while I’m no Sooner fan, I do anticipate and hope for a close game. I think the Sooners can keep it closer than two touchdowns at the very least.
