Official Game Notes

The Oklahoma State Cowboys have a chance on Black Friday to end the program’s longest losing streak ever as they take on the Colorado Buffaloes in Boulder. The Cowboys nearly pulled off a win last week on Senior Day in Stillwater, but the defense couldn’t get a stop when they needed it, so a 56-48 loss dropped Oklahoma State to 3-8 on the season and a miserable 0-8 in conference play.

Long gone are the preseason hopes of another appearance in the Big 12 Championship, and now it’s Colorado who is hoping to make their way into the game in their first year in the conference. The Buffaloes fell far short of the hype last year, but Deion Sanders has his team playing a high level, and they still have an outside chance to make the Big 12 Championship game.

While Oklahoma State has no bowl game in their future, they still have plenty to play for in terms of pride. 8 straight losses seems unreal, but unfortunately, it is the reality of Cowboy football right now. If they can somehow pull off an upset, perhaps everyone can feel a little bit better about the future state of the program.

How the Cowboys Win

Oklahoma State’s offense did plenty of damage against Texas Tech last weekend, but the defense couldn’t get a stop to save their lives. If the Cowboys can’t win the turnover battle—and probably score a defensive/special teams touchdown or two—they’re going to have a tough time in Boulder.

How the Buffaloes Win

Colorado’s defense isn’t great, but their offense is explosive. As long as Shedeur Sanders can take care of the ball, the Buffaloes should have no issues outscoring the Cowboys.
