Oklahoma’s wide receiver room has taken a significant hit, with several players entering the transfer portal. Jaquaize Pettaway, Nic Anderson, J.J. Hester, Jalil Farooq, and Andrel Anthony have all decided to seek opportunities elsewhere. This leaves the Sooners with a depleted receiving corps, forcing them to turn to the transfer portal to replenish their talent pool.
With limited options on the current roster, Oklahoma will need to prioritize adding experienced and talented wide receivers who can make an immediate impact.
Currently, only Deion Burks, Jacob Jordan, Zion Kearney, Zion Ragins, and Ivan Carreon have caught passes this year. Jayden Gibson is expected back in 2025 but is still recovering from a preseason injury. This leaves Oklahoma with a significant void at the wide receiver position, necessitating immediate reinforcements through the transfer portal.
Potential Transfer Portal Targets for Oklahoma

- Isaiah Sategna (Arkansas): A highly-rated recruit out of high school, Sategna has shown flashes of brilliance during his time at Arkansas. His speed, athleticism, and playmaking ability make him an attractive option for the Sooners.
- Jerand Bradley (Boston College): A former Texas Tech standout, Bradley has the size and skill set to be a dominant receiver. Despite some injury setbacks, he has the potential to be a major contributor at the college level.
- Nyziah Hunter (Cal): Hunter is a talented receiver who has shown flashes of brilliance. His ability to make plays after the catch and his versatility make him an intriguing option for Oklahoma.
As Oklahoma navigates the transfer portal, they’ll need to balance adding talent while also managing a significant number of departures. With 23 players already entering the portal, the Sooners have a lot of work to do to fill the gaps and bolster their roster.
OU’ first addition from the portal is punter Jacob Ulrich from Kennesaw State. Ulrich’s impressive punting skills will be a valuable asset to the Sooners’ special teams unit. Fresh off of an All-CUSA First-Team Selection this past season, Ulrich’s 45.6 yards per punt in 2024 finished 10th in the nation, ahead of Oklahoma’s Luke Elzinga.
As the transfer portal window closes on December 28th, Oklahoma will continue to evaluate their options and make strategic decisions to strengthen their team for the future.
