The accolades continue to roll in for the Oklahoma Sooners softball program. Sophomores Ella Parker and Kasidi Pickering have been named to the D1Softball Preseason First Team All-American list, further solidifying their status as rising stars in college softball.
This recognition comes as no surprise for the dynamic duo who played pivotal roles in Oklahoma’s fourth consecutive National Championship last season. Pickering showcased remarkable offensive prowess, hitting .389 with 12 home runs and 51 RBIs. Her impressive plate discipline was evident throughout the season, drawing 42 walks while striking out only 21 times.
Parker, primarily serving as the designated player, proved equally impactful. She amassed 13 home runs, drove in 62 runs, and boasted a .415 batting average. Parker also demonstrated impressive speed, stealing 17 bases while drawing 34 walks.
The recognition extends beyond the Oklahoma duo. Abigale Dayton, a key transfer addition from Utah, was named to the D1Softball Preseason Second Team All-American list. Dayton impressed in her final season with the Utes, hitting .431 with 10 doubles, six triples, and two home runs.
Oklahoma, ranked No. 3 in both the D1Softball and Softball America preseason polls, will look to maintain their dominance despite the graduation of a legendary senior class. With a talented core returning and impactful additions through the transfer portal, the Sooners are poised for another run at the national championship in 2025.
