Week 13 SEC Rankings: The Bottom Is Settled — The Top Is a Battlefield

Advertisements

The Week 13 SEC Power Rankings are here, and once again, the story isn’t just who climbed or fell — it’s how wildly different the ballots look in certain spots. We’ve got four unanimous selections this week, including Arkansas locked into the basement at No. 16 and Oklahoma firmly at No. 4 across the board. But at the very top? Not unanimous. Two of us still have Texas A&M as the SEC’s most complete team, while one voter isn’t ready to hand the Aggies that crown just yet, slotting Georgia at No. 1 instead. It’s a rare moment in this conference when the bottom feels far more predictable than the top.

Once you get past the clear-cut positions, the rankings turn into a full-blown SEC tug-of-war. Kentucky and Mississippi State end the week in a dead tie at No. 11, perfectly capturing the “we’re not impressed, but we’re not sure who’s worse” zone of the standings. Vanderbilt, Tennessee, and LSU are close to unanimous across ballots, but Missouri? Missouri is pure disagreement in motion. One of us has the Tigers as high as No. 7, another drops them all the way to No. 10, and another lands them at No. 9 — the widest spread of the week. Between the near-unanimous clusters and the outright arguments, Week 13 perfectly encapsulates what this season has been: clear separation at the extremes, and complete chaos everywhere else in between.

Comparing Week 12 to Week 13

Week 13 brought some movement at the top of the SEC Power Rankings, but the biggest story was how closely the new poll resembled last week’s results. Texas A&M held onto the No. 1 spot, dropping just one point from 48 to 47 but remaining the league’s most trusted team. The shakeup happened right behind the Aggies: Georgia jumped from No. 3 to No. 2, pulled higher by a dominant win and by Alabama’s slide to No. 5 after their loss. Ole Miss stayed steady in the top tier, climbing from 39 to 42 points, while Oklahoma made the biggest leap of the week, rising from No. 6 to a unanimous No. 4 after their statement win in Tuscaloosa. Texas, meanwhile, dropped from No. 5 to No. 6, and Missouri remained locked into the No. 9 spot with the exact same point total as last week.

The bottom half of the rankings showed almost no change at all — a rare moment of SEC stability. Kentucky and Mississippi State stayed tied at No. 11, mirroring their Week 12 deadlock with identical 18-point totals once again. LSU held firm at No. 10, Florida stayed at No. 13, and Auburn remained No. 14 after another point-for-point repeat of last week’s tally. South Carolina and Arkansas also stayed put, with the Gamecocks at No. 15 and the Razorbacks unanimously cemented at No. 16 for the second straight week. While the top of the conference continues to shuffle week to week, the bottom half looks frozen in place — and Week 13 only reinforced the widening gap between the SEC’s contenders and its strugglers.

Individual Rankings

Caleb

1. Texas A&M | The Aggies showed they had a bend don’t break mindset this weekend. Making a 27-point comeback is no easy task.

2. Georgia | Once again Georgia showed Texas who is boss. With a dominant game on both sides of the ball the Bulldogs rolled over Texas.

3. Ole Miss | The Rebels might just have the best offense in the SEC and country.

4. Oklahoma

5. Alabama

6. Texas

7. Missouri

8. Vanderbilt

9. Tennessee

10. Mississippi State

11. LSU

12. Kentucky

13. South Carolina

14. Florida

15. Auburn | The story of this season has been about how bad this Auburn offense is. They just simply cant make winning plays.

16. Arkansas | The Razorbacks are looking like they won’t win an SEC game.

Craig

1. Georgia | The Bulldogs looked like the best team in college football last Saturday. Kirby Smart and Georgia are rolling once again.

2. Texas A&M | I know the Aggies are 10-0, but I don’t feel like they are the best team in the SEC. Marcel Reed is going to have to be a lot better down the final stretch of the season.

3. Ole Miss | The Rebels struggled in the first half against Florida before pitching a shutout and dominating the second half. Ole Miss is one game away from punching their ticket to the playoffs.

4. Oklahoma

5. Alabama

6. Vanderbilt

7. Texas

8. Tennessee

9. Missouri

10. LSU

11. Mississippi State

12. Kentucky

13. Florida

14. Auburn

15. South Carolina | What a wild week for the Gamecocks. Going into halftime up by 27 points over Texas A&M to having your coach now under pressire. Doesn’t get much more heartbreaking than that.

16. Arkansas | The Razorbacks have now lost 5 conference games by one possession. They’ve been close week in and week out, but just can’t get the job done.

Matt

1. Texas A&M | Survive-and-advance mode activated. A&M didn’t dominate South Carolina, but championship-caliber teams win games like this — on the road, tight late, and with real pressure. Nothing changes at the top. The Aggies remain the most complete team in the SEC.

2. Georgia | That was a statement. Dominating Texas 35–10 wasn’t just a win — it was a flex. Georgia is peaking again, and the defense is beginning to look terrifying. They’re the one team most capable of wrestling No. 1 away from A&M.

3. Ole Miss | Beating Florida by 10 isn’t seismic, but Ole Miss continues to take care of business. With Texas getting dismantled by Georgia, the Rebels slide into the top three.

4. Oklahoma

5. Alabama

6. Texas

7. Vanderbilt

8. Tennessee

9. Kentucky

10. Missouri

11. LSU

12. Mississippi State

13. Auburn

14. Florida

15. South Carolina | Nearly beat Texas A&M… but didn’t. With Florida losing again and Arkansas losing again, you could argue to move them up — but the body of work still puts them here.

16. Arkansas | Another close game. Another close loss. At some point, almost doesn’t matter. They remain at the bottom.
