If that’s true, then the media may have accidentally paid Oklahoma one of the biggest compliments in the conference.
Ten Sooners earned spots on the Preseason All-SEC Team. Twelve total selections spread across the three squads. That’s a remarkable leap from just three selections one year ago.
On the surface, that’s a sign of growing respect for Brent Venables’ program.
But dig a little deeper, and another story begins to emerge.
The media believes Oklahoma is talented.
It just doesn’t believe Oklahoma has enough elite talent.
That’s where I think the voters got it wrong.
