The Heartland Sports staff had mixed results week. Matt and Zack are close up at the top, and Craig and Rich are tight at the bottom, but there is still plenty of season left. Let’s see how this week goes.

Zack
Texas vs. Oklahoma (-7): As always, Sooner fans should be worried whenever I pick them to cover a spread, but I feel good about this one. Texas has been pretty solid since dropping their season opener in Maryland, but I think Oklahoma wins this one by a couple touchdowns.
LSU (-2.5) @ Florida: The Gators are in the middle of one of their better seasons in recent history, but the Tigers look every bit like a top-5 team. I don’t care if this game IS in the Swamp, LSU could be up by double digits when this one is all said and done.
Auburn (-4) @ Mississippi State: This is another SEC game that I just don’t get. I’m not sure Auburn is still worthy of a top-10 ranking, but after dropping two in a row, Mississippi State doesn’t have what it takes to keep this one close. Auburn might win this one by two or three touchdowns.
Craig
West Virginia (-27.5) vs. Kansas: Picking this large of a spread will most likely come back to haunt me. That being said, I think West Virginia will be looking for a huge win after nearly letting Texas Tech come back a week ago. Not to mention it’s against the Jayhawks.
Kentucky (+6) @ Texas A&M: I understand that Kentucky is playing on the road, but I feel like they aren’t getting any respect with this spread. They’ve had an incredible season thus far and in my opinion they keep that going this week. I’ll take Kentucky by two touchdowns against the Aggies on Saturday.
Michigan State (-10) vs. Northwestern: Whether or not you think highly of Michigan State isn’t important in this one. The bottom line is that they are the better team in this matchup. I believe that Michigan State will dominate Northwestern this weekend.
Rich
West Virginia (-27.5) vs. Kansas: In front of a home crowd, the Mountaineers should build a sizable lead. The only question plaguing me is: when will WVU put in the back ups. It will have some barring on the score. For now I’m fine with taking WVU here.
Clemson (-20) vs. Wake Forest: After last week the Tigers have something to prove. Assuming Trevor Lawrence is healthy, this game couldn’t ugly fast. Unfortunately for WF, it will happen in front of their own fans.
LSU (-2.5) @ Florida: While I’m not sold on either program at this point, LSU is the better team. Surging at the moment, a spread less than 3 points doesn’t seem accurate. I’ll take the Tigers to cover.
Matt
LSU (-2.5) @ Florida: I get it that this is a bit of a rivalry, and it’s in the Swamp, but LSU impresses me more and more each time I watch them. I will be shocked if the Tigers don’t at least win by a field goal in this one.
Colorado (-2.5) vs. Arizona State: Kudos to the Buffs for being relevant in college football again. I’m a Herm Edwards fan, but I like Colorado to cover at home.
Clemson (-20) vs. Wake Forest: Trevor Lawrence is expected to start for the Tigers which means this spread is about four points too low.
