Storylines
The Cowboys rebounded last week with a 48-28 win over the Jayhawks in Kansas following an embarrassing loss at home to Texas Tech two weeks ago. The win in Kansas puts Oklahoma State at 4-1 on the season, and today, they host the Iowa State Cyclones.
The Cyclones are off to a rough start this season as they saw their season opener against FCS-foe South Dakota State cancelled due to lightning. Since then, they have gone 1-3, losing all three games by 10-points or fewer.
Mike Gundy is 10-2 against Iowa State in his tenure with the Cowboys, but few Oklahoma State fans can forget that fateful day in November 2011 when the Cyclones upset the BCS-bound Cowboys.
Oklahoma State leads the all-time series with Iowa State 31-18-3, and the Cowboys have not lost to the Cyclones in Stillwater since 2000. Regardless, the Cowboys need to approach this game with complete focus as the Cyclones are probably a better team than their record indicates.
