Oklahoma went 5-0 in baseball games last week and junior right handed pitcher Jason Ruffcorn played a key role in that streak.
The Cedar Park, Texas, native appeared in both games against New Mexico mid-week and then in all three games of the Kansas series over the weekend. In doing so, he earned three saves, including Sunday in which he got out of a bases loaded/1 out jam by inducing a double play.
“You have to be ready at all times to do whatever anyone needs, if it’s a 10-1 game or a 2-1 game you have to be ready to do your job.”

Monday marks the first time Ruffcorn has received a weekly Big 12 award and the fourth overall for Oklahoma Baseball this season.
The Sooners currently own the best record in the Big 12 at 21-4 and are 3-0 in conference play, after sweeping the Jayhawks. They will be in Stillwater on Tuesday night for a non-conference game against Oklahoma State.
