The Mariners came through for us on Saturday, giving us the chance to get above .500 to end the week. We hit two of our three bets on Seattle and the New York Mets, putting us at 8-10 on the week and within striking distance of a positive week. Once again, we’re going with a familiar team today as we’re going to take a look at Toronto (74-62) and Colorado (50-85).
The Pitchers
This is the second time this week that we’ve had Kevin Gausman (10-8, 3.30 ERA). On Monday he picked up his second win over the last five games by throwing five innings against Washington, in which he struck out seven batters and allowed just three earned runs. In his last five game he’s allowed an average of 2.6 earned runs per game.
The Rockies are bringing Chase Anderson(0-4, 6.08 ERA) off the 15-Day injured list. He hasn’t thrown in the majors since July 22nd and has allowed an average of 4.6 earned runs per game, over the last five.
The Lineups
Vladimir Guerrero and Bo Bichette are charging the Toronto offense. Guerrero has blasted 20 home runs, with 80 RBI, and Bichette has a team-best .314 batting average. The Blue Jays have scored 37 runs over the last five games.
Ryan McMahon and Elias Diaz lead the Rockies from the plate. McMahon has 22 home runs on the season and has knocked in 68 RBI, while Diaz leads the team with a .267 batting average. The Rockies have scored 25 runs over the last five games.
The Streaks
Toronto lost Game 2 in this series on Saturday, setting up a rubber match for Sunday. The Blue Jays had previously won two in a row before that. Colorado’s Saturday win on Saturday snapped a four-game losing streak.
The Odds
Blue Jays -1.5
Blue Jays -250 on the money line
O/U 11.5
I’m picking the Rockies to cover the +1.5 but I’m taking the Blue Jays on the moneyline. The over/under is ridiculous at 11.5 but it’s close to what this game total is going to be. I’m going with the under though.
