Oklahoma City Thunder | Game Preview #4: Detroit Pistons

Advertisements

The Oklahoma City Thunder fell down early on Sunday afternoon in their home opener against the Denver Nuggets, and despite their best efforts, they simply could not get back up. The Nuggets were too overpowering, and the Thunder suffered one of their worst losses in recent history as Denver was able to win 128-95.

Today is a new day, however, as the Thunder will look to get their first home win of the 2023-24 season when they host the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons are off to a solid 2-1 start, primarily due to their impressive defensive output, and if OKC wants to get back on the right track, they’re going to have to shoot a lot better than they did against the Nuggets.

On Sunday, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had his worst offensive output since March 9, 2022, when he managed just 8 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves. His 7 points against the Nuggets ties his all-time low as a member of the Thunder, and because of how poorly he played, you can pretty much guarantee he will be ready to make things right against the Pistons tonight.
