Oklahoma City Thunder | Game #77 Preview: Detroit Pistons

The Oklahoma City Thunder’s season is nearly over, and the countdown continues as the Thunder hosts the Detroit Pistons in what could be a tank matchup to remember. The Thunder is currently fourth in the draft standings, with Orlando and Houston tied for the top spot and the Pistons just 1.5 games ahead of OKC. After Detroit’s win last night against the Philadelphia 76ers, the race to last place just got a little bit more interesting.

Thunder Against The Spread | Something’s Gotta Give Against Detroit Tonight

This is two teams in bad slumps playing each other tonight. They both come into this game riding 8-game losing streaks and are both 1-9 over the last ten games. Something has got to give tonight and unfortunately for the Thunder they’re the road team and that’s a disadvantage. OKC has lost two in a row against the spread on the road and with a spread this tight we’re back to position of practically picking a winner. I’m not sure that I’m willing to do that. The Thunder haven’t been within three points of a road opponent since they beat the Lakers 107-104 on November 4th. To me, that makes Detroit -3 the best pick for this game tonight.

OKC Thunder | The 10 Home Games I Can’t Wait to Attend

Now, as the Thunder begins their 14th season, I am finally a season-ticket holder. The Thunder hasn’t had fans in the building since March of 2019, and I for one could not be more excited. Yes, it’s almost guaranteed to be another tank season, and I’m more likely to be in the building for a loss than a win, but I’m still pumped. The NBA announced the full schedule for the 2021-22 season Friday afternoon, so without further ado, here are the 10 games that I’m looking forward to attending the most (in chronological order):

OKC Thunder | Game #56 Preview: Pistons

Tonight, the Thunder takes on the Detroit Pistons on the road. The Pistons are 16-39, dead last in the Eastern Conference standings, but they handled the Thunder just fine in OKC 2 weeks ago. Tonight’s matchup will look a little differently, though, as the Pistons are missing a handful of players to injury, so maybe the Thunder can pull out a miracle and get a win.

OKC Thunder | Game Preview #44: Grizzlies

The Oklahoma City Thunder picked up a win in Detroit against the Pistons on Monday behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 31 points, but tonight, the Thunder will be without their star point guard as they host the Memphis Grizzlies at Chesapeake Energy Arena. SGA is dealing with plantar fascitis in his right foot, so he should be considered game-to-game at this point.
