Defensive tackle Tommie Harris was a two-time All American for the Oklahoma Sooners. The former Ellison High School (Killeen, TX) standout earned All American status in 2002 and again in 2003.

A starter in the middle, as a true freshman, Harris went on to be a centerpiece for Oklahoma’s defense. Eventually from a consensus first-team All-American in 2002 to a unanimous first-team All-American in 2003. He also won the Lombardi Trophy in 2003 as the nation’s top lineman.

After foregoing his senior season to enter the NFL Draft, he was selected by the Chicago Bears in the first round with the 14th overall pick. He went on to play seven seasons in the Windy City, where he was named as a Pro Bowl selection three times. Harris play his final season in the NFL (2011) with the San Diego Chargers.

Harris’ Sports Illustrated cover photo in 2002 became one of the iconic images of the former star. To this day he remains a fan favorite in Norman.
