Golden State has struggled to cover the spread, not doing so even half of the time. They’re especially bad on the road, failing to cover twice as often as they actually do. Admittedly, some of their struggles this season have been due to injuries, but even though they’re healthy and OKC is a bit hampered, I see the Thunder keeping this one close. Who knows? OKC might even pull out a win…

OKC Thunder | Game #50 Preview: Golden State Warriors
Not too long ago, the Oklahoma City Thunder was a championship contender and in the thick of building a great new rivalry in NBA basketball. Viewed as one of the only teams in the league that could legitimately go toe-to-toe with the Golden State Warriors, a dynasty in the making, every matchup was must-see TV. We all know how that story ended, though, as Kevin Durant entered free agency, actually chose to go to the Warriors, and the rivalry slowly dissolved from there.

The Big 12 went 7-3 against the S.E.C. on Saturday in the last every Big 12/S.E.C. challenge in basketball. However, it was Oklahoma’s win over…

In a conference championship round where three of the four starting quarterbacks are from Big 12 schools, Jalen Hurts remains the most prolific Oklahoma Alumni remaining in the playoffs. He powered the Eagles past the Giants last weekend, completing 16 of 24 passes for 154 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also logged 9 rushing attempts for 34 yards and another touchdown.

Oklahoma City opened as a 1-point underdog, but the line quickly moved when it was announced that Kevin Love was out and Donovan Mitchell was listed as doubtful on the injury report. Without Mitchell, the Cavs lose their most dynamic scorer in an offense that already doesn’t score a lot of points. They might actually improve on the defensive end, though, which is where Cleveland really thrives. Because OKC is missing Luguentz Dort, I do think this will be a close game, but I can see OKC winning outright in the end.

OKC actually opened up as a 1-point favorite in this matchup, but they have since gone up and down to finally settle as a slight underdog. I believe these two teams are pretty evenly matched, despite the fact that the Hawks have an advantage in their frontcourt. Regardless, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has played like a top-10 player this season, and I think he will look like the best player on the court tonight. I’m taking OKC to win this one.

OKC looks to stay hot on Wednesday night as they host the Atlanta Hawks, who have lost two in a row after winning 5 straight. The Hawks currently sit in 8th place in the Eastern Conference standings with a 24-24 record, just a half-game ahead of the Indiana Pacers, but a game and a half behind the New York Knicks.

Denver and OKC have been killing it lately. The Nuggets are clearly the better team, but the Thunder keeps it close, regardless of who they’re playing. I can see this one coming down to some free throws at the end, so I’m taking OKC to cover, even if I’m not convinced they can pull off the win.

The competition continues to stiffen Sunday night as the Thunder takes on the Denver Nuggets on the road. The Nuggets are on a 9-game win streak, 8 of which have taken place at home. Nikola Jokic has been as efficient as ever, and Jamal Murray is playing some of the best basketball of his career. Despite the Thunder playing Denver close in all 3 matchups so far this season, the Nuggets sit atop the Western Conference with good reason, so OKC has their work cut out for them in this divisional matchup.
