In the middle of November, the Oklahoma Sooners made the trip to Morgantown, West Virginia. Set to square off against the ranked Mountaineers, snow covered the field. However, the weather could not slow down one of the most explosive players in the country.
Holding a 7-0 lead, Baker Mayfield took the snap. Faking the handoff, the quarterback quickly flipped the ball to Dede Westbrook in the backfield to avoid the pressure. Taking an inside route, Westbrook quickly found quite a bit of running room. A couple of yards short of the first down marker, a WVU defender made contact.
Failing to wrap up the speedster, Westbrook dragged the would-be-tackler several yards before applying the stiff arm. Shedding the defender, a foot race broke out. But, no one would be able to catch Westbrook as the receiver took the ball 75-yards for the score. Effectively putting Oklahoma up 14-0, the two programs put on quite the show moving forward.
The Sooners eventually won the outing by a final of 56-28.
