Throughout the spring as well as a majority of the summer, no Oklahoma Sooner fan questioned who the kicker would be come fall. The obvious answer has been junior Austin Seibert. Securing not only place kicking duties, Seibert also held the responsibility of punting. However, that could quickly change as the kicker has not yet enrolled at the University of Oklahoma.
While there’s still ample time to finalize a class schedule, Seibert remains restricted from participating in team workouts without completing the enrollment process. The report was confirmed Monday via a spokesperson according to NewsOK. Regardless, the kicker earned a spot on Ray Guy Award Watchlist, an award presented annual to the nation’s top collegiate punter.
Currently, NewsOK is also reporting that the unnamed spokesperson representing the university expects Seibert to enroll before the fall semester. The action would full reinstate the kicker to resume team workouts as well as on the field.
