The Lincoln Riley era at Oklahoma got started with a bang on Saturday as the Sooners steamrolled UTEP to the final tune of 56-7. Some notable stats on the day were Baker Mayfield’s 19/20 performance for 329 yards and three touchdowns in just two quarters of play. In relief, Kyler Murray returned to the football field, for the first time since 2015, to complete 10-of-11 passes for 149 yards and a score in relief.

Mark Andrews established himself as a top target in Oklahoma’s offense by hauling in a career-high seven receptions for 134 yards and a score. The Sooners dominated in every facet of offense on Saturday adding an additional 180 yards, and four touchdowns, on the ground.

The defense was equally as dominant, holding the Miners to just seven points, 167 yards, and forced a turnover.
