In tonight’s second game of the preseason for Oklahoma City, the Thunder take on the New Orleans Pelicans, who could be considered polar opposites from the Thunder’s opponent on Tuesday, the Houston Rockets. The Pelicans have two of the league’s best big men in Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins, and they play a lot bigger than most teams across the league, who are moving the opposite direction when it comes to size on the court.
Steven Adams, who went through full practice yesterday after sustaining a mild injury in Tuesday’s game against the Rockets, will receive most of the duty of guarding Cousins, while Carmelo Anthony and Jerami Grant will likely receive the honor of guarding one of the league’s most versatile players in Davis.
Tonight’s game will be the first one at the ‘Peake since Game 4 of the Round 1 of the NBA Playoffs against the Houston Rockets last season, and fans are full of anticipation of the opportunity to get a look at this new Thunder squad.

Game Notes:
- Russell Westbrook went through full practice yesterday, and his status for tonight is uncertain, but he is expected to play.
- Alex Abrines and Patrick Patterson are both out for the Thunder while both continue to move closer to full recovery from left knee injuries.
- Both the Thunder and the Pelicans are 0-1 in preseason play.
- Rajon Rondo is now starting for the Pelicans, the fifth team of his career, and his fifth team in five seasons.
- The Thunder last played the Pelicans on February 26, winning
- Anthony Davis scored more points in a single quarter against the Thunder than any other player last season (24 points on 2/26/17). He also shot and made more field goal attempts against the Thunder than any other player last season (15-28 on 2/26/17).
