College Football Playoff Rankings | No Change In Top Five

The Oklahoma Sooners remain on the outside of the College Football Playoff looking in. Holding steady at No. 5, Lincoln Riley’s program continues to make an argument for inclusion in the final four. However, they’re not the only team in the Big 12 Conference hoping to make an appearance in the playoff.

Sitting at No. 6, the TCU Horned Frogs boast a 7-1 overall record. Making the short journey to Norman, Oklahoma this weekend, this one is setting up to be a CFP audition. One team most likely elimintates itself from contention. Yet, there’s one question that needs to be answered: is it enough to leapfrog No. 4 Clemson?

Of course, OU as well as TCU could receive a bit of help from the Miami Hurricanes assuming they can knock off Notre Dame…

On the losing side of Bedlam, the Oklahoma State Cowboys fall to No. 15 overall. It was the last opportunity to make a statement for the folks in orange. But make no mistake, a Big 12 Championship appearance is still on the table. At this point it appears highly unlikely though.

Lastly, Iowa State rounds out the members of the conference ranked in this week’s edition of the CFP Rankings. Coming in at No. 21, the Cyclones give the Big 12 a total of four ranked programs. The number falls behind the likes of the SEC as well as the B10.
