Oklahoma Sooners Football | Offensive Players Who Must Perform Against TCU

Orlando Brown | Offensive Lineman

There’s no denying that Orlando Brown sets the level of intensity along the offensive line. Consistently playing on the edge, the junior leads — arguably — the nation’s best front. Heading into the weekend, Brown will once again shoulder a large portion of the responsibility for the Oklahoma Sooners. Why?

The TCU Horned Frogs lead the league in sacks per game. Currently racking up 3.11 sacks per game, Gary Patterson’s defense has 28 on the season. That number ranks inside the top eleven of the nation. However, it has paved the way to success for TCU in a pass happy conference.

Rodney Anderson | Running Back

This past week, Abdul Adams once again fumbled the ball. The last time the young running back lost a fumble, it took some time before fans witnessed his talent on the field again. Consistently stating the coaching staff utilizes the hot hand, Lincoln Riley has found success. But, it doesn’t excuse the absence of Trey Sermon in the past several outings. The situation clearly leaves us with Rodney Anderson.

Turning a corner late in the season, Anderson has quickly become who many fans expected him to be this year. Facing a TCU defense that gives up 69.67 rushing yards per game, the redshirt sophomore will need to be productive. Cracking the 100-yard barrier is certainly in the cards.

Marquise Brown | Receiver

Recording a break out type season, Marquise Brown has electrified audiences from across the country. With speed and soft hands, the sophomore has been labeled “Oklahoma’s Secret Weapon.” Facing an speedy and athletic defense, a new challenge awaits for Brown. He’ll need to continue his streak in front of a home crowd this week to give the Sooners an edge and homerun threat.
