The Oklahoma Sooners entered the week against TCU with a few questionable pieces in the secondary. As Saturday played out, fans witnessed the absence of Jordan Thomas as well as Kahlil Haughton. The move led to freshmen Tre Norwood and Chanse Sylie earning starting roles. Yet, it appeared to work out for the better as Mike Stoops defense held the Horned Frogs to a mere 20 points.

Moving forward, questions surround the two aforementioned players. On Monday afternoon, Lincoln Riley took the podium to address the media’s questions.

Quickly focusing on the mission players in the secondary, questions surfaced of the availability of Jordan Thomas. Although the cornerback has struggled for a good portion of the year, he remains the most experience corner on the roster. Despite the experience, Riley said Thomas remains questionable for the Kansas Jayhawks pairing.

Giving a bit more of a concrete statement, Riley also address Haughton’s injury situations. Failing to appear last Saturday, the safety isn’t expected back against Kansas this upcoming weekend. The lack of availability gives more experience opportunities to the younger players. Hopefully, it pans out in the long run with the likes of Sylie, Norwood, and Tre Brown.
