As Oklahoma prepares for the start of spring practice on Saturday, head coach Lincoln Riley announced Thursday afternoon that four players will not participate.

Receivers Mykel Jones and Nick Basquine, cornerback Starrland Baldwin and linebacker Caleb Kelly will all be on the sidelines during Oklahoma’s fourteen spring practices.

“All four of those guys, fully expect them back for the fall,” Riley said. “They’ve been participating in kind of a limited way within our strength and conditioning right now, but those guys won’t be available for spring practice.”

In addition to those four players, offensive lineman Alex Dalton and cornerback Jordan Parker will be limited participants in spring ball.

“Obviously both coming off knee injuries, but those guys are progressing really well,” Riley said about Dalton and Parker. “And we will get to get a little bit of work with them through spring and we’ll see how they progress from there.”

The Sooners start spring practice on Saturday.
