Oklahoma Sooners Run-Rule Oregon State, 8-0

Playing in the Pacific Northwest, the No. 2 Oklahoma Sooners secured a second consecutive shutout over the Oregon State Beavers. The effort from Mariah Lopez and Parker Conrad provided the 21st shutout of the year. However, the 8-0 victory also marked the 17th time the Sooners have won in a run-rule.

In the circle, Lopez earned the start as Oklahoma looked to begin a new winning streak. The decision proved to be the right one as the youngster tossed five scoreless innings. Striking out six batters faced, Lopez gets the win and moves to 14-0 on the year. In the final inning, Conrad stepped in to strike out two of her own before ending the game with a save.

At the plate a trio of Sooners provided scoring opportunities for their teammates. Fale Aviu connected on 2-of-3 three appearances while driving three runs. Joining in the effort, Caleigh Clifton recorded two runs batted in herself. Despite not plating a run until the fourth inning, once the scoring started, it seemed unstoppable.

Wrapping the tour out of conference, the Sooners are set to take on North Texas on Wednesday.
