In as many days, the Oklahoma Sooners used a grand slam home run to power past the Texas Longhorns. Saturday’s shot, off the bat of Sydney Romero, helped secure the series victory and maintain OU’s stronghold on the conference.
Taylor Ellsworth put the Longhorns on top in the third inning with a solo home run to left field. The Sooners responded in the bottom of the inning by playing Hannah Sparks. They then took the lead on an unbelievable play by Caleigh Clifton where she literally danced around the tag at home plate.

A sacrifice fly by Shay Knighten scored Sydney Romero to boost the lead to 3-1 but Romero wasn’t even close to being done on the day.
An inning later she sent a 2-2 pitch over the left field fence for Oklahoma’s second grand slam of the series.
