Seattle Selects Tre Flowers In Fifth Round

Oklahoma State’s Tre Flowers will begin his professional football career in Seattle. The Seahawks drafted the safety in the fifth round of the NFL Draft with the 146th overall pick.

The 2017 Leslie O’Neal Award winner was voted as a team captain by his teammates. He went on to be a First-Team All Conference selection as selected by the coaches and a Second-Team selection by the media. He was also a Second-Team All American selection last season.

At 6-4/202 Flowers has range to cover deep and is a bit of a hawk on the ball, especially when it floats a bit. He may struggle initially in covering the receivers out of the slot, as well as tight ends.

He’s a powerful and violent hitter who plays with no fear. Those two attributes make him the perfect candidate for a special teams player. As a fifth round draft selection that may be where his biggest impact on the game could be during his first couple of seasons.
