Behind the recruiting efforts of Kerry Cooks, Oklahoma is attempting to build a formidable secondary. Affectionately labeled the “No Fly Zone,” the program received a bit of good news late Sunday night. Isaiah Rutherford, a 4-star cornerback out of the state of California, included the Sooners as one-of-seven potential destinations.

In no particular order, the other six programs listed are Alabama, California, Oregon, Colorado, Notre Dame, and LSU.
Currently, 247Sports ranked Rutherford as the No. 19 corner in the 2019 class and No. 181 overall. One might think a favorite would arise after visits to Oklahoma, Oregon, Cal, and Alabama. Yet, the rising Jesuit High School star continues to keep that information under lock and key.
Without an established timeline for an announcement, the future of Rutherford remains up in the air. For now, it’s anyone’s guess as to where this prospect will land when it’s all said and done.
