Oklahoma State center Lucas N’Guessan has been granted a release from the program and will look to transfer. In a statement issued by the OSU sports information office, head coach Mike Boynton thanked N’Guessan and and supported his decision to leave.
“Lucas has informed me of his desire to continue his college career outside of our program,” Boynton said. “We are thankful to him for his commitment to Cowboy Basketball for the past two seasons. We support his decision and wish him great success as he moves forward.”
Playing time most likely was the main contributor in N’Guessan’s decision. The 7-0/220 native of The Netherlands saw limited action during his first two seasons in Stillwater and the arrivals of 6-10 Kentrevious Jones and 6-9 Maurice Calloo are making things crowded for OSU bigs.
N’Guessan played in just 12 Big 12 Conference games last season, totaling 30 minutes and averaging 0.3 points and 0.3 rebounds. In total, he made 54 appearances at Oklahoma State during his two seasons.
