Oklahoma Sooners Hosting 4 Recruits During Home Opener

The Oklahoma Sooners continue to prepare for kickoff on September 1st as the university plays host to the Florida Atlantic Owls. As roughly 90,000 fans flood Norman hoping to catch a glimpse of Kyler Murray’s debut, there will be a few special guests in attendance. Currently, four recruits across two sports plan to take official visits during the weekend.

Class of 2019 recruit, Victor Iwuakor exploded onto the scene this summer as the number of offers ballooned out to 28 according to Rivals. Standing 6-8, the prospect plans to make an official visit to Norman on August 31st hoping to gain valuable information about the program and his role within it. As an elite rim protector despite a lack of size, Iwuakor remains a welcome addition to any program. Hopefully, the choice at the end of the day is Oklahoma!

Following suit, Jalen Hill plans to be on campus on September 1st. At 6-7, Hill projects as a small forward on the collegiate circuit. As a member of the class of 2019, this kid lack any obvious weaknesses while his athleticism is highly undervalued. There’s plenty of potential on both ends of the court pack into this one individual. It’ll be interesting to track the recruitment process of the versatile Hill moving forward as suitors a jumping in line, including Oklahoma.

On the gridiron, the Sooners host JUCO product, Jacoby Jones. The defensive end unofficially visited Norman back in July and received an offer before leaving campus. At 6-4, the defender now holds roughly twenty offers from various programs including a couple residing in the Big 12 Conference. It’s currently believed that Jones is a lock for the Sooners but will pending visits to Austin, TX and Eugene, OR sway the coveted talent?

Last but certainly not least, Peyton Powell will also be on campus September 1st during the Sooners home opener. Receiving the most recent offer on his list from Oklahoma, Powell scheduled an official visit. This comes after visits to Clemson as well as Ohio State. As it current sits, Powell weighs in as the nation’s 29th best athlete and could easily make a decision sooner rather than later.
