The updated AP Poll has been released and the Oklahoma Sooners are no longer in the top five. Toward the bottom of the pack, the Oregon Ducks dropped a contest at home and move up. It’s a clear indicator that many members of the media simply use score as an the barometer in these rankings. I get it, it’s difficult to watch every single game on a given Saturday. Thankfully, these rankings mean absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things. Needless to say, the College Football Playoff rankings cannot get here soon enough.
Without any further complaining, here is how the top twenty-five round out for the week.

Surging up the charts behind two consecutive wins over ranked opponents, the Texas Longhorns climb to No. 18 this week. The move comes at the cost of another conference foe however. The Red River Rivalry actually carries significant weight not only in the conference race but also on the nation scale once again.
Debuting in the rankings for the first time, Texas Tech takes over the role of gatekeeper after a big win in Stillwater. The Red Raiders replace Oklahoma State in the top twenty-five to keep the conference representation at four total. This is anyone’s race to win at this point in the season.
