Manek’s Double-Double Leads Oklahoma To Win In Home Opener

Double-Double’s are becoming a think for Oklahoma forward Brady Manek. In three games this season the sophomore from Harrah, OK has recorded three double-doubles. His most recent, an 18 point/11 rebound effort, put the Sooners on top of Wofford by a final score of 75-64.

The Sooners trailed the Terriers 38-37 at the break but outscored them 38-26 over the final 20 minutes to secure a 3-0 start to the season.

Christian James scored 15 points and Miles Reynolds added 12 to round out Oklahoma’s leading scorers. Starting point guard Aaron Calixte was outstanding in 29 minutes of play by not recording a single turnover.

Oklahoma turned up the defensive pressure in the second half, holding Wofford to 31% from the floor for the half and winning the total battle of the boards 45-38.

The Sooners are off to the Bahamas next to take on Florida in the opener of the Battle 4 Atlantis.
