Cowboys Snap Four-Game Slide With 82-73 Win Over Central Arkansas

Playing just is second game for Oklahoma State Curtis Jones scored a career-high 23 points and grabbed six boards to lead the Cowboys to an 82-73 win over Central Arkansas on Friday. The 6-4/185 transfer guard from Indiana was 5-of-10 from three-point range, and 6-of-14 from the floor to become the game’s leading scorer off the bench.

Forward Cameron McGriff provided 17 points and 7 boards and Lindy Waters added 10 points and 11 boards in a double-double performance.

Oklahoma State trailed through the first eleven minutes of the game but a pair of free throws from Lindy Waters not only provided the first lead of the game for OSU, it sparked a 25-16 run to end the half.

The Cowboys had a 10-point cushion at halftime but Central Arkansas used a 14-6 run in the second half to make the game interesting again. A pair of free throws by Thatch Unruh pulled the Bears to within 67-64, at the 5:56 mark but OSU closed out on a 15-9 run of their own to secure the win.

Oklahoma State (5-6) won’t play again until they face Texas A&M — Corpus Christi at home on Dec. 29.
