Oklahoma Linebackers Coach Tim Kish Announces Retirement

With a new defensive coordinator on board changes among the staff were bound to happen one way or the other. Oklahoma linebackers coach Tim Kish has decided that this would be the perfect time for him to ride off into the sunset of retirement.

“I’m truly grateful to have worked with our football staff and administration. Thank you to all my players past and present for all of their hard work and dedication. I’m honored to have traveled this journey with all of you!”

Arriving at Oklahoma with Mike Stoops, after serving on Stoops’ staff during his tenure at Arizona, Kish has been a crucial party of Oklahoma’s defense since 2012, coaching guys like Jordan Evans along with Caleb Kelly and Curtis Bolton of late.

His departure leaves Alex Grinch with his first priority task as OU’s defensive coordinator. It had already been thought that Missouri outside linebackers coach Brian Odom would be joining Grinch at Oklahoma so he would make a natural fit as an immediate replacement for Kish.
