The Oklahoma City Thunder dropped their second consecutive home game on Tuesday as they fell 119-117 to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Thunder had a number of chances to take control of the game, but they failed to do so because they got away from their defensive-minded identity.

Tonight, the Thunder travels to San Antonio to take on the Spurs, one of the most disciplined teams in the entire league. Spurs head coach Greg Popovich has been one of the NBA’s top coaches for the last 2 decades, and despite the departure of superstar Kawhi Leonard in exchange for DeMar DeRozan, they have continued to find success.

The Spurs are one of the league’s hottest teams right now, winning 13 of their last 17 overall and 11 of their last 12 at home, so the Thunder has their work cut out for them. If OKC wants to pick up a win tonight, or on Saturday at home when they play the Spurs again for that matter, they have to get back to their defensive roots.
