Sooners Drop From AP Top 25 Basketball Poll

M. Hofeld

Big 12 play has not treated the Sooners kindly. Oklahoma has dropped four of their first six games against conference opponents and have a huge Bedlam battle looming Wednesday night.

The 2-4 start in conference play has taken a toll on OU’s rankings as well. This week, three teams dropped from the Top 25 with the Sooners being one of them.

Ranked #20 last week, Oklahoma now finds itself in the “others receiving votes” category this week.

The skidding Sooners have lost two consecutive games since beating TCU on January 12th. They’ll travel to Stillwater on Wednesday night to play an Oklahoma State team that is struggling as well.

OSU, also losers of two in a row, are trying to find the answer to depth problems brought about by a string of dismissals and transfers from the team.

Oklahoma won the first Bedlam meeting, in Norman, this season by a final score of 74-64.
