Propelling by the pitching staff through the non-conference portion of the schedule, the Oklahoma Sooners appear to have a solid weekend rotation on the mound. In the most recent outing, sophomore Levi Prater recorded fifteen strikeouts through seven innings of work speaking to level of talent on the roster. However, it’s not just the pitching staff that looks improved.
At the plate patience for the likes of Jordan Vujovich paid dividends. The outfielder reached base in twelve consecutive at-bats while drawing five walks over the same stretch. Bringing a bit of power, Cade Cavalli plated five runs with two swings of the bat over the weekend. Holding down the role of designated hitter, the sophomore also adds depth on the bump when called upon.
The competition from here on out only gets better. Yet, the tools are in place for this group to be successful throughout the remainder of the year.
