The Oklahoma Sooners offense powered the program to another series sweep over the course of the weekend. Anchoring the efforts on the field, Caleigh Clifton earned Big 12 Player of the Week honors. It’s the second weekly award of the second baseman’s career and ninth for the Sooners this season.

Matching a career high eight game hitting streak, Clifton’s batting average soared to .714 throughout the duration of the week. Finding a rhythm at the plate, the senior recorded two triples along the way. Accounting for six runs and five RBIs, Clifton remains a major contributor on both sides of the ball.
Without any weaknesses in the batting order, the Oklahoma Sooners remain focused on winning a national championship once again. Approaching the year one game at a time, the program prepares for a road series with the Kansas Jayhawks. Conference play continues to throw the best competition at Patty Gasso but her players simply respond positively at each turn.
