As Oklahoma’s dominance of Big 12 softball continues, seeing Sooners earn weekly conference awards has been a regular thing. On Tuesday Giselle “G” Juarez became the 12th OU player to earn such an award this season.
The junior pitcher posted a 1.27 ERA against the 11th ranked Texas Longhorns and earned two wins in Oklahoma’s three-game sweep. In Thursday’s opener she fanned ten batters which marked the sixth time this season she’s recorded ten or more strikeouts. It was also her sixth complete-game performance of the season, and the highest number of strikeouts for the Longhorns on the season.
For the weekend she posted a 7.64 strikeouts per seven innings pitched and recorded 12 total strikeouts, ranking second among Big 12 pitchers for the weekend.
