True freshman linebacker Jonathan Perkins has yet to find his place in Oklahoma’s Speed Defense. It now appears as if the San Bernardino, California native won’t hang around long enough to find a place. According to The Athletic’s Jason Kersey, Perkins has entered the transfer portal.
An early enrollee, and member of Oklahoma’s 2019 recruiting class, Perkins was a four-star recruit by ESPN and a three-star prospect by 247Sports and Rivals. All three recruiting services had him listed as a Top 45 prospect at the outside linebacker position. He had received a total of 23 scholarship offers coming out of high school.
