Storylines

Oklahoma is 16-1 at home under head coach Lincoln Riley, with the only defeat coming two years ago at the hands of Iowa State, 38-31.

OU leads the all-time series at 75-6-2. Iowa State’s 2017 win, in Norman, ended an 18-game losing streak to the Sooners.

The Sooners’ .916 series winning percentage against Iowa State is the best by one FBS program against another (minimum of 50 games played).

Iowa State, Oklahoma and Washington are the only Power 5 schools to avoid a loss of over 14 points in the last three regular seasons. ISU’s worst loss since 2017 was a 24-10 setback at Texas in 2018.

Oklahoma has been ranked in the AP’s top 10 in 48 of the last 49 polls. The only time it wasn’t during that stretch was following its 2017 loss to Iowa State (fell from third to 12th).

Iowa State is one of 11 teams in FBS ranked in the top-25 nationally in both offensive yards per play (11th, 6.9) and defensive yards per play (24th, 4.9): Alabama, Baylor, Clemson, UCF, Georgia, Iowa State, LSU, Navy, Ohio State, Oregon, Utah.

The Sooners have scored at least 34 points in 18 straight games — good for the longest streak in school history — and in 29 of the last 30.

Iowa State ranks 16th nationally in total offense (479.5), which is on pace to break the school record of 439.6 set in 1976. The Cyclones have recorded over 400 yards of total offense in seven of eight games this season. The lowest offensive game of the season for ISU was a 372-yard effort vs. West Virginia.

OU has won 17 straight November games (last loss on Nov. 8, 2014, vs. Baylor). Since the start of the 2000 season, it is 61-11 (.847) in the month.
