Over the course of the weekend, two recruits stopped by the University of Oklahoma hoping to get a glimpse of the football program in action. By the time the duo left campus, each held a scholarship offer in hand.
Hailing from North Carolina, Shane Whitter previously committed to Wake Forest back in March of this year. However, that has not stopped the 2020 prospect from touring the country by using the remainding official visits. Entering the conversation a bit late, the Sooners remain one of five programs looking to flip the young linebacker.
Keeping the focus on the defensive side of the ball, Justin Harrington received Oklahoma’s second offer of the weekend. A JUCO defensive back out of Bakersfield College in California, the sophomore has accounted for eight turnovers in two years with the program. Currently, 247Sports pairs the talented DB with the Sooners for the foreseeable future. Assuming that’s the case, Harrington adds immediate viability to a position severely lacking in depth.
The early signing period opens on December 18th this go around. Will the Sooners ink these two names?
