Kickoff: 7 PM CT
Location: Boone Pickens Stadium (Stillwater, Oklahoma)
Radio: Cowboy Radio Network
Setting the Stage
The Oklahoma State Cowboys (8-3) host the Oklahoma Sooners (10-1) in the annual Bedlam game, and unlike many of the recent Bedlam games, this one will not decide who goes to the Big XII Championship Game. The Sooners have already secured their spot in that game, while the Cowboys have been eliminated. However, this game has a lot on the line.
Coming into the season, the Cowboys were pegged to win 7 games by a number of betting and media outlets, and they have already surpassed that number. A win today would put Oklahoma State in a better bowl game and give them a chance to reach 10 wins—a number that seemed improbable if not impossible at the beginning of the season.
For Oklahoma, they’re still hoping to sneak their way into the College Football Playoff. A win today would be another one against a ranked team with a game remaining against top-10 ranked Baylor in the Big 12 Championship.
Lastly, this game has the inter-state rivalry bragging rights on the line. Regardless of what both teams are playing for concerning the rest of their seasons, they’re playing for pride and for honor. May the best team win…or at least the best team today.
