The Oklahoma Sooners find themselves inside the preseason top twenty-five of the Perfect Game rankings. On Wednesday afternoon, Skip Johnson’s ball club debuted at No. 16 as the team continues to prepare for the upcoming season.
In a second year as the head coach, Johnson compiled a 33-23 overall record. Concluding the Big 12 Tournament with an early exit, the program failed to make the NCAA Tournament. However, the pitching expert at head coach clearly has the program on an upward trend at the moment. Pulling in the No. 21 ranked recruiting class, the Sooners possess a firm foundation for the future.
The competition in the conference will undoubtedly weed out the pretenders from the contenders as three other league foes sit inside the rankings as well. Heading south to Pensacola, Florida on Valentine’s Day, the Sooners begin the season paired against Virginia.
